Our School

Wayland Li Martial Arts Centre has been producing world-class Wushu competitors since 1998. Over the years, Master Li's students have collectively won hundreds of medals in national and international competitions. Our goal is to train future champions and foster a love of Wushu.

Some of our athletes achievements include:

2023 4th Pan-American Kungfu Championships in Markham, Canada:
- 60 gold medals 🥇, 37 silver medals 🥈and 52 bronze medals 🥉for 60 Wayland Li athletes representing Team Canada
2022 8th World Junior Wushu Championships in Tangerang, Indonesia:
- Gold medal 🥇 in Gunshu, Silver medal 🥈 in Changquan, and a Bronze medal🥉 in Daoshu for Group B Girls, attained by Lia Tang-Ruggiero
- Bronze medals 🥉in Group C Daoshu attained by Venus Li and 🥉Group C Gunshu attained by Sophia Liao
2022 Canadian Nationals Wushu Championships:
- 19 Gold medals🥇, 32 Silver medals 🥈and 19 Bronze medals 🥉in Groups A, B, C taolu
- 7 athletes selected for the Canadian Junior National Wushu Team
2019 World Wushu Championships in Shanghai, China - Bronze medal 🥉 in Double Straightsword attained by Erica Li
2019 Canadian Nationals Wushu Championships:
- 20 Gold medals🥇, 19 Silver medals 🥈and 3 Bronze medals 🥉in Groups A, B, C taolu
- 3 athletes selected for the Canadian National Wushu Team
2018 World Junior Wushu Championships in Brazil - Bronze medals🥉 in Group C Gunshu attained by Adam Shaltout and🥉Group C Broadsword attained by Kai-Hsin Chang

Our school's curriculum focuses on acquiring a strong foundation in the basic fundamentals (jibengong) and then progressing to hand forms (Longfist changquan, Southern Fist nanquan) and weapons including broadsword (daoshu), straight sword (jianshu), staff (gunshu) and spear (qiangshu).

Wayland Li Martial Arts Centre has a training facility located in Markham that serve students and athletes across the Greater Toronto Area.
