The World Wushu Championships (WWC) are held every two years and are organized by the International Wushu Federation (IWUF) for competitors over the age of 18.

Over the years, students from Wayland Li Martial Arts Centre has successfully earned on a spot on the national Wushu team to represent Canada at WWCs.


2009 - 10th World Wushu Championships (世界武术锦标赛)

Dates: October 25-29th, 2009

Location: Toronto, Canada

Key achievements:

  • 2 athletes from Wayland Li represented Canada on the National Wushu Team in taolu competition

  • Gillian Szeto with 7th and 9th place finishes in Changquan and Staff respectively
