Happy Holidays to all Wayland Li students and families!

On December 21, 2019, we celebrated the holidays with several exciting and fun activities:

• Lion Dance

• Wushu demonstration

• Belt and certificate ceremony for all students

• Holiday gift exchange

• … and tons of great food brought in by every family!
  

This also commemorated the opening of our new location and one very special birthday.

Lion Dance at the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of the P.R. China

Wayland Li Martial Arts Centre performed several Wushu and Lion Dance demonstrations for the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. Thank you all students and parents for your efforts.

Demonstration for Prime Minister Justin Trudeau

On September 15, 2019, the performance team of Wayland Li Martial Arts Centre held a Wushu and Lion Dance demonstration for the Liberal Party of Canada. The event was based in Markham, Ontario. Thank you to Mr. Trudeau for making the time to take a photo with us. We are very proud and honoured!

2019 Lion Dance at the Council of Newcomer Organizations CNY Gala

On February 16, 2019, the demonstration team from Wayland Li Martial Arts Centre performed lion dance at the Chinese New Gala for the Council of Newcomer Organizations (加拿大华人同乡总会2019新春年会). The event was held in Markham, Canada.

Chinese New Year 2019 Celebration "Simply Splendid!"

On February 5 and 9, 2019, the demonstration team from Wayland Li Martial Arts Centre performed Lion Dance and Wushu at the 2019 “Simply Splendid” event for Lunar New Year. The event was held at Pacific Mall in Markham, Canada.

The performances were held jointly wit special guests Alan Tam (HK TVB Artist, Singer) and Jonas M. (Canada-China Singer, Model).

2019 CNTV Chinese New Year Gala (海外春晚)

On February 4, 2019, members of the demonstration team from Wayland Li Wushu performed Lion and Dragon Dance at the CNTV Chinese New Year Gala (2019年海外春晚). The event was hosted by CNTV (加拿大国家电视台), and was held at the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts in Toronto, Canada.

2019 Lion Dance at Chinese Consulate in Toronto Spring Festival

On February 1, 2019, the demonstration team of Wayland Li Wushu (李文启武术学院) performed lion dance at the Spring Festival Gala hosted by the Chinese Consulate in Greater Toronto.

Lion Dance at the 2018 China National Day Celebrations in Toronto

On September 27, 2018 members of the Wayland Li Martial Arts Centre performed the Lion Dance for the 69th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. The event was held at Toronto’s City Hall, and was attended by Mayor John Tory, municipal government officials and members from the PRC consulate of Toronto.

Mid-Autumn Festival Demo for Prime Minister Justin Trudeau visit

On September 21, 2018, members of the Wayland Li Martial Arts Centre demonstration team performed Lion Dance and Wushu for the Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau. The visit was held at the Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Toronto, and celebrated Mid-Autumn Festival.

Lion Dance at St. Patrick's Day Parade in Toronto

The lion dance team from Wayland Li participated in the 2018 St. Patrick's Day Parade in Toronto. Thank you to all of our performers and parents for helping to organize a successful event!

The parade was held on March 11, 2018 and brought together several lion dance schools from the Toronto area, including Sunny Tang Martial Arts, All Masters and Wayland Li. The organizing body was Wushu Canada and Wushu Ontario.
