Wushu Performance the "Ode to Peace" Musical

On May 18, 2025, Wayland Li Wushu performed for the Ode to Peace musical at the Mississauga Living Arts Centre. For the musical, we got into costume and delivered an excellent group sword performance.

Well done everyone!

From the organizer of the event, they had this to say about the purpose of the musical:

“Ode to Peace” A Grand Theatrical Epic. Honoring History, Celebrating Peace. The Canadian Association of Chinese Performing Arts will present “Ode to Peace”, a music and dance epic at the Living Arts Centre in Mississauga. This event marks the 80th anniversary of World War II victory honoring those who fought for peace and justice. A Tribute Through Art.

“Ode to Peace” blends music, dance, and storytelling to bring history back to life. It highlights the heroism of anti-fascist fighters and the enduring value of peace. The performance will feature outstanding artists from China and Canada.

The show will honour Canada’s contributions, including the Juno Beach battle during D-Day, the Battle of Hong Kong, and Canada’s role in the Hump Airlift supporting China. It will also tell the story of Chinese Canadian soldiers who fought courageously during the war. Their military service not only contributed to the war effort, but also became a turning point in their fight for freedom and equal political rights at home.
